Troubleshooting: the tester shows no values

Five questions in order, from the battery to the webhook.

The steps in detail

  1. Is the tester sending and has it joined? Battery charged, device switched on, region set to EU868? In the TTN console look at the device's Live data: does a "Join accept" appear? Without a successful join an OTAA device sends no data.
  2. Do uplinks arrive at TTN? Do uplinks with RSSI and SNR appear in Live data? If not, no gateway is in range. Go to a place with known coverage.
  3. Is the webhook active? In the application under Integrations → Webhooks: does the webhook exist, is it not disabled and not marked "unhealthy"? Do address and key match the details on the fieldtester.io dashboard?
  4. Does the reply come back? Downlinks need a gateway that may transmit and has duty cycle left. Live data shows scheduled and sent downlinks.
  5. Is the tester assigned correctly? For some models the model must first be chosen on the fieldtester.io dashboard.

If Live data shows uplinks but fieldtester.io shows nothing, it is almost always the webhook (step 3).
